The DELF and DALF are diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to prove the French-language skills of non-French candidates. There are six independent diplomas, which correspond, respectively, to the six levels of the Council of Europe’ s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL)
Created in 1998 by the Paris Ile-de-France CCI, the Test d’Evaluation de Français (TEF) is an international benchmark test that measures your level of knowledge and skills in French. The TEF provides confirmation of one’s level of competency in French in any professional, academic or mobility-related context.
DELF and DALF are six independent certificates that correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. These diplomas are awarded by France Education International and the French Ministry of Education, and accepted worldwide including the government of Canada.
DELF means « Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française ». It certifies the level of French of non-native speakers, from level A1 to B2.
DALF means « Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française », this exam is for those who have a high level in French, from C1 to C2.
TEF (Test d’Evaluation de Francais) is an international test that measures the level of knowledge and skills in French. It consists of four modular tests: writing, reading, oral comprehension and oral expression. Organised by the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris, TEF certificate is often required for immigration, academic or naturalisation purposes in Canada and France.
