Alliance Française de Gaborone (AFG) is a leading non-profit organisation in Botswana dedicated to the promotion of the French language and Francophone cultures, while also celebrating the rich languages and cultural heritage of Botswana. Established in 1980, AFG has been a key player in fostering cross-cultural exchange, language learning, and international cooperation in Gaborone for over four decades. As part of the global Alliance Française Network – the largest cultural network in the world, AFG belongs to a community of more than 800 institutions across 100+ countries. This international network shares a common mission: to promote multilingualism, cultural diversity, tolerance, and open-mindedness through language education and cultural programs. Locally, AFG partners with schools, universities, public institutions, and private sector organisations in Botswana to offer expert support in both language education and cultural engagement. From French language classes and internationally recognised exams to concerts, exhibitions, and educational outreach, Alliance Française de Gaborone is a trusted hub for French-Botswana cultural collaboration.
